MILBRANDT VINEYARDS
Traditions 2007 Chenin Blanc, Washington State

Washington State is one of those rare places on earth capable of producing great wines from both warm- and cool-climate varieties. Our mild climate, large diurnal temperature swings and extended sunlight hours during the summer months allow grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. We also have uniquely intricate soils that bring character and personality to all of our wines.

In the 1970s, Chenin Blanc was one of the most popular varieties in America. It was relished for its generous fruit and easy texture. By the mid 1980s, for a variety of reasons, it had slipped into relative obscurity. What a loss! When treated with respect, Chenin Blanc is capable of producing wonderful wines.

Our 2007 Traditions Chenin Blanc has a fresh, forward bouquet of kiwi, honeydew melons and Golden Delicious apples. Its ripe flavors and slight sweetness are balanced by great acidity. The grape's natural versatility allows it to be served as an aperitif or with pastas, scallops, salmon, grilled chicken or cheeses.
