MILBRANDT VINEYARDS
Estates 2007 Tasting Room Red, Washington State

Our Tasting Room Red comes from three of our estate vineyards on Eastern Washington's Wahluke Slope. Established in 2006, the Wahluke Slope is a sub-region within the Columbia Valley appellation. Located midway between Seattle and Spokane it is bordered by the Columbia River to the southwest and Hanford Reach National Monument to the east. The climate here is warm enough during the day to fully ripen grapes, yet cool enough at night to ensure bright acids and firm tannins.

Our inaugural release of Tasting Room Red combines the three most important varieties in the Rhone Valley. The Syrah from our Clifton Hill Vineyard is dense, dark and jammy. The Grenache from our Clifton Vineyard is aromatic and voluptuous. The Evergreen Viognier, which was co-fermented with the red grapes, is highly perfumed and neatly structured. The combination yields a wine that is dark purple, dense and fruit-forward. The nose is ripe and powerful with black cherries, strawberries and vanilla. The palate is lush, smooth and approachable.
